Nestled within one of the Barossa Valley’s original family-owned properties, Norm’s Farm boasts the first German settlement in the Barossa known as Hoffnungsthal. Your host, Billie-Jo Kies, is 6th generation on the estate!
Norm’s Farm, standing for over a century, epitomises not just a dwelling, but a true home. Norm and Nita Kies built a practical and welcoming abode with an unmistakable homely vibe. Fondly referred to as ‘the farm’ by the family, this picturesque estate sprawls across 400 acres.
The Estate proudly features 140-year-old Shiraz grapes, supplying the renowned Penfolds brand and holding certification as a member of Sustainable Wine Growing Australia. In addition to its prestigious vineyards, the Estate cultivates cereal crops, maintains a herd of around 50 beef breeding cattle, and hosts the Barossa’s only Rodeo during the summer months of each year, organized by Bridgette Hasting (Billie’s sister). It’s also home to Barossa Helicopters, the family business founded in 1989 by Peter ‘Goose’ and Sandra Kies (Billie’s parents).
